Experiences in the Sahara

Everything you need for a real desert night, from the camel ride in to the sunrise the next morning.

Camel treks

The classic way to reach the dunes. Guides lead the camels at a gentle walking pace, so no riding experience is needed. Treks are a wonderful way to see the changing shapes and colours of the sand.

  • Guided rides into the dunes
  • Suitable for beginners
  • Timed to catch the best light of the day

Desert dinners

Dinner in the desert is a highlight of any stay. Expect traditional Berber and southern Tunisian food, shared around the fire under the open sky.

  • Bread baked in the hot sand and embers
  • Couscous with vegetables and meat
  • Sweet green mint tea
  • Evenings around the campfire

  • Tents set among the dunes
  • A quiet night far from city lights

Sunrise & sunset

The dunes are at their most beautiful at the start and end of the day, when the sand turns gold, orange and pink. We’ll make sure you’re in the right spot to watch.

  • Sunset from the top of a dune
  • Early-morning sunrise walk
  • Perfect light for photographs

Stargazing

Far from city lights, the Sahara sky is one of the clearest you will ever see. On a clear night the Milky Way stretches from horizon to horizon.

  • Dark skies with very little light pollution
  • Quiet evenings around the fire
  • Best on clear, moonless nights
